About Me

Tattooing is my life. I couldn't imagine doing anything else! The hours are good, I travel a ton (I attended over 30 shows in various cities, states, & countries in the past 2 years, and came home with 20+ awards, spanning various categories), meet some fantastic people, and get to work with my best friends:
Billy Ho: Tattoo Artist (AGARU) Jackie Naylor: Head Piercer
Amanda V: Tattoo Artist (AGARU 2) Brian Criscuolo: Piercer Nate Sawyers: Tattoo Artist & Piercer
(I work, and live in the Trolley Square center, in Wilmington.) My first studio, AGARU TATTOO & BODY PIERCING is located about 70 feet from my apartment, so I don't drive a whole lot! LOL!
My second studio "AGARU TATTOO & BODY PIERCING 2" is only about 10 minutes away, on Maryland Ave, in Richardson Park. I spend vast amounts of time dicking around on the computer, reading or drawing.
I enjoy doing color realism, portraits, and Japanese influenced work. Check out my work in the pics section, and if you'd like to set up an appointment, here's my info:

Tattoos, Tattooing, Tattooed people....
I'm a big fan of movies (Both at the theater, and on DVD). I dig video games of all kind. The history/science channel, and HBO's "Entourage" is the majority of my TV time. I like music of many various genres . When I party, I drink for high score. I like ninjas, samurais, pirates, and anything Star Wars related. I'm good at useless trivia. I like to write. (I've been writing a novel since late 2005)

Favorite TV Shows
Survivorman & Man vs. Wild both have me hooked. It's Always Sunny in Philalphia, The Venture Brothers & Family Guy would have a close three-way-tie for best thing on television. (However, I'm pretty sure I have a crush on "Sweet Dee", so I.S.I.P wins.) I think South Park should replace network news (It's more accurate.) Anything on the science/history channel is fascinating. I'm addicted to Entourage on HBO.

Favorite Books
Chuck P's: Lullaby, Survivor, Fight Club, Diary, Invisible Monsters, Haunted, Choke. I'm into Existentialism literature, so I read a bunch of Nitzsche, Kafka, Cadmus, and early (Greek) philosophy. I've recently gotten into Chomsky, and he scares the shit out of me, and makes my brains hurt.

Journal
Well, the holidays are rapidly approaching, and I'm just now getting time to sit down and reflect on the past few months. Firstly, I've decided to lay off of all the traveling for a bit. (I did around 40 shows in the past 2 years, and I'm REALLY sick of airport security bullshit, hotels, forgetting what my apartment looks like, missing my friends & family.... and truthfully, doing "tribal koi-fish, with hearts & butterflies, with someones boy/girl/friends name" for cheap-skates. The tattoo conventions are tending to get out of controll...Either they are 1) Poorly promoted, and WAY overbooked with artists: (300+ booths means NOBODY gets to work.) 2) Or WAY underbooked with talent: (Having a poster that says "The best from around the world", but suppling no-talent, local scratchers that will cut throats for money, means scrounging for decent work.) The next shows I do will be carefully chosen. The new studio is a bit slow, but steady. I'm hoping that by spring, when things warm up, and people come looking for tattoos... We'll be waiting! Basically, I'm looking to re-focus my efforts here at home, and just try to turn out the best work I can!! I've posted some new work in my pictures section, so take a look! -Tommy Rabid
