part 1 was easily the best of the games. part 2 is good but not the greatest. part 4 was something new. SH:Origins now the has to be me second best of all. part 3 was actually scary to me,i liked it as much as part 1

Silent Hill 2 was the best to me, the extra characters were pretty good displayed. The enemies were the best (lets remember Pyramid Head)

To me the best one is Silent Hill 2, the scenarios the mental problem with the characters, the "love story" fantastic everything, and Pyramid Head very very scary...
